Reflection
What were the total hours spent working on your project? Discuss your experiences as you worked on it.
Although seniors were supposed to begin their project since the beginning of the school year, I had only spent approximately a week and a few days researching information to incorporate it into my website. I did not take the project as seriously because all instruction was piled on abruptly and there was not a class that explained each component required for the project. Throughout searching numerous topics, since college rape/sexual assault is a recent issue due to students speaking up and using their name along with their accusations.
What were some of your experiences when conducting research and writing the paper?
Conducting research was difficult regarding historical and global context because there is not as many statistics as there should be about the societal problem. There is not enough background about rape in college unless it is generalized into rape itself.
What did you do to manage your time? How did you balance, work, school, sports, etc...?
Managing my time was an obstacle due to having other priorities and limited time.
What did you learn about working with other people, especially your partner(s)?
Working independently has been beneficial for me ever since I have done projects because regardless, I usually end up doing everything by myself.
Were your original goals for your project carried out by the time you finished? How were they different?
I had originally scheduled a section for every day in the week before the website was due in order to finish it on time, but instead I had to
finish everything for the duration of 3 days.
What advice would you give to a student who will be completing their Capstone Project next year?
I would consider telling students completing their Capstone Project next year that they should start right away, even if it is just brainstorming during the summer because a problem for me was choosing what to focus on.
